For the location - this is a solid 5 for me and my family. It is such a lively place with so many memories and good times. The food is always super good (whether bar food or trying to find a healthy balance) and the staff is fast, friendly and fun We always make it a point to dine here when we go skiing.

Stopped here on our way to Vermont, has a small dive bar type of feel. Food was great and service was even better.

Walked into an immediate atmosphere of fun, laughter, and good company. The decor was authentic and carries a story with each piece. The staff were kind and hardworking. The food tasted amazing, the locals were inviting and kind. The owner took the time to say hello and talk with us. I love it there and look forward to many future visits!

Great place to watch sports. Friendly staff. Bar food is okay. Cozy little spot to watch Olympics, boxing, World Cup, etc. in a pinch.

Four of us stopped after the lunch crowd on a weekday and were seated quickly. The place is very eclectic. Good draft, beer selection, and good bloody Mary's. The French onion soup was excellent . We had a couple salads and a patty melt and a roast beef and cheddar wrap, (the roast beef in the wrap was tasteless and sliced too thick) but everything else was good. The waitstaff was very good

We stumbled across this hidden gem several years ago when going to Vermont in the Fall. Since that day, we fell in love! The food is ALWAYS awesome and the atmosphere has that true authentic old world pub feel. It seems almost true that most everyone knows someone there. I have always sat at the bar and I am never sorry I do. The only negative I have to say about the Man of Kent is that it is not around the corner from where I live full time. If it were; I would eat there almost every night. It just feels like home. If you get the chance; make the stop! I promise you will NOT be sorry.

After hearing many great things about Man of Kent, I finally decided to give it a chance. That being said, I'm glad I did because it was very good. First off, I loved the atmosphere here. It felt like an old school authentic pub that doesn't exist anymore. Anyways, I ordered the Rodeo burger with fries and it was tasty. The burger was topped with pulled pork, onion rings, and bbq sauce. Knowing that, the burger was very good. To explain, the bun was toasted and had a nice crunch. In addition, the pulled pork and onion rings were both good and mixed well with each other. Also, the flavor of the beef was enjoyable. My only complaint is that I ordered the burger medium rare and it was medium well. Next, I tried the fries and they were excellent. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. These were top notch french fries. Taking everything into account, Man of Kent is a really good restaurant with good burgers and fries.

Hat tip to my colleague for recommending that we detour to Man of Kent Tavern en route from NYC to Vermont. I would've never known this place existed, let alone was worth a deviation from our straight shot up north. What a great little oasis of character is a desert of dining options! Even on a Friday afternoon, the indoor dining area was mostly full. We opted to enjoy the waning sun and crisp autumn breezes on their patio. Fortunately, there was ample seating when we arrived; by the time we'd ordered, it was also nearly at capacity. I can only imagine that MOK gets packed during weekends, when more travelers are out and about. Between the two of us, we shared a massive cobb salad and a less substantial, but probably more calorie-laden pastrami reuben and a couple beers. The portions were more than ample for a satisfying road trip lunch, and I recall the beer selection offering a decent variety, too. It likely doesn't get much better than MOK for food and ambiance in the area (I mean... -is- there anything else nearby?), but even if this were plopped down in the middle of Manhattan, I think it could hold its own as far as pubs go. It certainly met and exceeded my expectations for being in the middle of nowhere.
